Position Overview:

As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently inputting and managing various types of data into the company’s computer systems or databases. Your attention to detail and speed will play a crucial role in ensuring data accuracy and maintaining the integrity of our information. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Input data from various sources into the company’s database or computer system with precision and speed.
  2. Verify and review data for errors, completeness, and consistency, making necessary corrections as needed.
  3. Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security in handling sensitive information.
  4. Prepare and organize data in a structured and systematic manner for easy retrieval and analysis.
  5. Assist in data clean-up and data validation activities to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to resolve data discrepancies and address any data-related issues.
  7. Follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure data entry consistency and adherence to company standards.
  8. Participate in data entry training and workshops to improve skills and efficiency.
  9. Assist in generating reports and summaries based on the entered data, as required.
  10. Monitor and maintain data entry equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
  11. Support other administrative tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification; additional certifications in data entry or computer-related fields are a plus.
  • Proven experience in data entry or related administrative roles is advantageous but not always required for entry-level positions.
  • Proficiency in using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and data entry tools.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy are essential (typically measured in keystrokes per hour or words per minute).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Familiarity with data entry techniques, such as 10-key, is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new data entry technologies and processes.
